Teruma Parsha Summary

We learned about the Mishkan. We spoke about different items that the Jewish people donated. We looked at copper, gold, silver, wool, cinnamon. We compared cinnamon and cinnamon sticks. We did a fun science activity where we had to match the various spices by smelling them.

We learned about the different keilim in the mishkan and how Moshe knew how to build them.

We spoke about the Aron and the keruvim. The shulchan and the lechem hapanim which stayed fresh all week. We heard about the menorah, mizbeach hanechoshes and the curtains that covered the mishkan.

Parshas Teruma Activities

  • I placed the pictures of the keilim of the Mishkan in sheet protectors. I had the kids use playdough to create the Keilim, either by placing it on top of the pictures or by creating their own. We molded different keilim of the Mishkan from playdough and drew our parsha picture with highlighters - ā€œgoldā€!

  • We compared cinnamon and cinnamon sticks. We did a fun science activity where we had to match the various spices by smelling them.

Hashem said, "build a mishkan for me
So that among the Jews Iā€™ll be"
Gifts for the mishkan, they did bring
There was a plan for everything

They brought gold and silver, too
Wool of purple and of blue
A Menorah made of gold so pure
There were curtains for the door

The aron was covered in and out with gold
The luchos to hold
The shulchan was made of special wood
In the mishkan they stood
