Vayikra Parsha Summary

Watch a 15 second video of Parshat Vayikra featuring our Sefer Vayikra puppets.

We learned about the karbanos. The different animals brought, the birds and the korban mincha. We discussed the reasons that the karbanos were brought. How Moshe was so humble and didn’t feel important even though he was the leader of the Jewish people.
We heard the story of Rabbi Chanina ben Dosa who wanted to bring a korban but didn’t have any money. One day he saw a stone, and he decided he was going to polish it to bring to the Beis Hamikdash (Holy temple).
When it was done, it was too heavy to carry and he didn’t have money to pay for help. Hashem sent angels to help him, and with a miracle, he landed right in Yerushalayim as soon as he helped lift it.

We learned that if we really want to do something for Hashem, Hashem will help us.

Nowadays we learn about the karbanos and we daven for Moshiach to come so we’ll be able to bring them once again.

        Vayikra Parsha Drawing Journal:

        sefer vayikra parsha drawing journal

Our Sefer Vayikra Parsha Drawing Journal is not just a journal; it's a gateway to an interactive and imaginative journey through the Parsha. Here's how it works and how it can benefit educators, parents, and, most importantly, the children:

        Weekly Parsha Pages:

Each week, as we delve into the Parsha, we provide students with a Parsha page. This isn't your typical worksheet—it's a canvas for creativity and storytelling.

        1. Name and Trace: Students begin by writing their name on the top line and tracing the Parsha name to the best of their ability, fostering early writing skills.

        2. Draw the Parsha: The heart of the activity lies in the large drawing box. Using crayons, markers, or colored pencils, children are encouraged to let their imagination run wild as they illustrate the Parsha story.

        3. Narrate Their Creation: After finishing their drawing, teachers or parents engage with the child, asking them to describe their artwork. The child's words are then transcribed in the lines below the drawing, enhancing their communication skills and deepening their understanding of the Parsha.

There were many kinds of Korbonos
        Each animal - Tomim, complete
        The Shlomim, the peace offering
Had parts for the Kohein to eat

If there was a time that a person did
        Something that was wrong
A Korbon either Chatos, or Ashom
        He brought before very long

The people knew the Olah was
        A completely burned Korbon
        Offered with free will
        To Hashem by anyone

The Korbon Mincho was flour and oil
        Given mainly by poor
And to show his thanks to Hashem
A Jew brought a Korbon Todah

In the time of the mishkan
        And the Bais Hamikdosh too,
        Many korbonos were brought
To Hashem by all the Jews

        Chorus:
The Bais Hamikdosh is no more
We have no korbonos as before
Now we daven, now we pray
        With our siddur every day

        Moshe taught that the korbonos
Were for the Jews to become close
        To Hashem, so we understand
A korbon was for the benefit of man

        Chorus:

        A korbon was a sacrifice
        Love for Hashem it expressed
        The korbon was for t’shuvah
        To ask Hashem’s forgiveness

The Bais Hamikdosh is no more
We have no korbonos as before
Now we daven, now we pray
        With our siddur, every day
