Parshas Vayakhel - Pekudei

It also includes 10 black and white coloring pages of the same. Vayakhel-Pekudei Parsha Summary VAYAKHEL -  We learned about how Moshe told the Jewish people to build the mishkan. The Jewish people brought so many donations, Moshe had to tell them to stop bringing. Hashem commanded the Jewish people to not build the mishkan on Shabbos even though the mishkan was such a holy place. We spoke about some of the 39 melachos (types of work) that we aren't allowed to do on shabbos. PEKUD

Ki Sisa Parsha Summary and counting activity We learned about the machatzis hashekel - half shekel coin that the Jewish people had to bring so they could be counted. We discussed how  Hashem loves the Jewish people so much, He wanted to count them. Just like some of our friends count  their rocks, shells, erasers or whatever they collect because they are special to us. So the Jewish people had to bring machatzis hashekel -half a shekel coin. We each  got a coin and did our own counting of how many students and teachers there are in our class. We played a counting game. We had to count the little people figures, so we gave each one a coin and then  counted the coins. We then wrote the number on our number strip. Tetzaveh Parsha Summary We learned about the bigdei kehunah - the garments that the kohen wore and the kohen gadol - the high priest.  We learned about the 4 garments of the Kohen and what they were. We also learned about the  8 bigdei Kohen gadol and what was special about them.  We learned about the mizbeach hazahav - the gold altar that the ketores was brought on. Parshas Teruma

We also have coloring pages available  here . Teruma Parsha Summary We learned about the Mishkan. We spoke about different items that the Jewish people donated. We looked at copper, gold, silver, wool, cinnamon. We compared cinnamon and cinnamon sticks. We did a fun science activity where we had to match the various spices by smelling them. We learned about the different keilim in the mishkan and how Moshe knew how to build them. We spoke about the Aron and the keruvim. The shulchan and the lechem hapanim which stayed fresh all week. We heard about the menorah, mizbeach hanechoshes and the curtains that covered the mishkan.   Parshas Teruma Activities  I placed the pictures of the keilim of the Mishkan in sheet protectors.
