Parshas Bereishis - 6 Days of Creation

Download our 6 Days of Creation packet .  It has beautiful  full color art for each day of creation and Adam and Chava puppets. It also includes coloring pages for each day of creation. Parsha Summary We learned that before G-d created the world, there was nothing. We learned about what was created on each of the 6 days of creation. We discovered different ways to make the numbers on our fingers. Some of the children were able to make different finger combinations using both hands. G-d created the world for us so that we can do good deeds/mitzvot.  We learned about Adam and Chava (Eve) living in Gan Eden (The garden of Eden) and about the Eitz Hada'at - Tree of Knowledge and the tricky snake.  Every week we are going to make a picture of what we learned in this week’s parsha, and at the end of each book of the Torah, we will bring it home. Ki Sisa Parsha Summary and counting activity We learned about the machatzis hashekel - half shekel coin that the Jewish people had to bring so they could be counted. We discussed how  Hashem loves the Jewish people so much, He wanted to count them. Just like some of our friends count  their rocks, shells, erasers or whatever they collect because they are special to us. So the Jewish people had to bring machatzis hashekel -half a shekel coin. We each  got a coin and did our own counting of how many students and teachers there are in our class. We played a counting game. We had to count the little people figures, so we gave each one a coin and then  counted the coins. We then wrote the number on our number strip. Mishpatim Parsha Summary and activities This week's parsha has many laws. We focused on kosher, not telling a lie and returning a lost object. We learned about Kosher. In parshas mishpatim , we learn that we’re not allowed to mix meat and milk. We spoke about kosher symbols that make food kosher and then we talked about what foods are meat, dairy or parve.  We sorted a basket of food into the proper categories. We made meat and dairy placemats. We learned how to properly set a table, so we drew the place settings on our placemat and then drew our favorite meat and dairy foods on the plates of each placemat.   W e turned over our dramatic play area into a Kosher Supermarket! We learned about nutrition. We read the book, “The Little Seed” and spoke about different parts of a plant

Yisro Parsha Summary This week , we learned about the aseres hadibros - the 10 commandments in depth. We went through each commandment  with puppet shows and stories.  We discussed different ways to honor our  parents , we talked about lying and who lied in the Torah . The students really remembered. From examples of Terach lying about the idols , to Pharaoh lying about letting the Jewish people go  and Dasan and Aviram . We spoke about what jealousy is and how to be happy for our friends. We worked a lot on reviewing the numbers 1-10. We did a lot of counting activities. We learned about how Hashem chose a mountain to give the Torah  on. We spoke about being humble and not bragging. We also learned how Hashem offered the Torah to the other nations, but they didn’t want it. Only the Je

Beshalach Parsha Summary We heard about how Pharaoh  changed his mind and chased after the yidden. The pillar of cloud guided the yidden by day and the pillar of fire  at night. There were clouds surrounding the yidden protecting them from the Egyptians  and dangerous things in the desert. When they got to the Red sea , some yidden started crying to go back to Egypt . Some davened to Hashem and others wanted to fight the Egyptians . Hashem told the yidden to go into the water, Nachshon ben Aminadav  jumped into the water and when it reached his neck, the sea split. We heard about all the miracles  that happened. There was water to drink and fruits to eat! Miriam danced with the women with tambourines, thanking Hashem for saving them and taking them out of exile . In the desert Hashem
