Beshalach Parsha Summary We heard about how Pharaoh  changed his mind and chased after the yidden. The pillar of cloud guided the yidden by day and the pillar of fire  at night. There were clouds surrounding the yidden protecting them from the Egyptians  and dangerous things in the desert. When they got to the Red sea , some yidden started crying to go back to Egypt . Some davened to Hashem and others wanted to fight the Egyptians . Hashem told the yidden to go into the water, Nachshon ben Aminadav  jumped into the water and when it reached his neck, the sea split. We heard about all the miracles  that happened. Bo Parsha Summary I taught the children that every letter in the alef bet  corresponds to a number. ב =2 and א =1 which equals 3. In this week’s parsha  there are 3 Makkos - the numerical of equivalent of Bo is 3. We heard about Arbeh - locusts  which came in a giant wind and ate up all the crops and food. Then there was Choshech - darkness . First the Egyptians  couldn’t see anything and after 3 days, they were frozen in place.     Tu B'shevat, also known as the "New Year of the Trees," is a Jewish holiday that falls on the 15th day of the Hebrew month of Shevat. It is a time to celebrate and give thanks for the abundance of fruits and nuts that come from trees. Teaching little kids about Tu B'shevat can be a fun and interactive way to introduce them to Jewish traditions and the importance of environmental stewardship. One way to do this is by creating a Tu B'shevat-themed coloring page or puppet activity. Our  Tu B'shevat coloring pages  feature pictures of the shivat haminim - the 7 species of Israel, such as grapes, figs, pomegranates, and dates.  In addition to coloring pages, we also offer  Tu B'shevat puppets . These puppets can be used to act out stories or songs about the holiday, or to learn the significance of each of the 7 types of foods that Israel is blessed with. These puppets can also be used to help children learn more about the different fruits  that are eaten on

Parsha Summary In this week's parsha, we learn about Yosef's 2 dreams. In one, the sun, moon and stars are all bowing down to him, and in the other, the stalks of wheat are bowing to his center stalk. Yaakov also makes Yosef a special colored coat. His brothers get jealous and conspire to get rid of him. First they throw him in a pit and then he gets sold to Egyptians. In Egypt while working for Potiphar, Yosef gets thrown in jail. There, he meets the king's baker and butler. He interprets their dreams for them. Click here  for a parsha song. See  this post  for the passport and stamps that we used. Be sure to check out my  Pinterest  board with these and more ideas. We really enjoyed learning about Denmark. We focused mostly on Windmills and Wind Turbines. We learned about wind energy and did some STEM activities to explore it. We learned some phrases in Danish and we read the book The Ugly Duckling. The author, Hans Christian Anderson is from Denmark and there are statues and a museum of him in Denmark. We also learned the queen of Denmark is Margrethe II. The popular mode of transportation is cycling. There are many bicycles in Denmark. FOOD: I made  Frikadeller (Danish meatballs)  following this recipe. I used ground beef instead of pork. It was really good, and my family loved it. PLACES: Faroe Islands - A beautiful island with gorgeous
