Shemini Parsha Summary This week we learned about the dedication of the Mishkan. Aharon's sons Nadav and Avihu wanted to connect to Hashem so they brought ketoret. It wasn't authorized by Hashem so they were punished.  Aharon's other sons, Elazar and Isamar were kohanim and served in the Mishkan. We learned that there are 2 signs for an animal to be kosher. Being that Colombia borders on 2 oceans, we delved into sharks, humpback whales and sea turtles. We really enjoyed learning about them. We learned a bit of Spanish. We cooked lots of Colombian food. Finally, we really enjoyed getting glimpses of beautiful places in Colombia. FOOD: We made lots of different Colombian foods. We really enjoyed trying out the new flavors. I made all these recipes. There are so many animals and plants in the rainforest and we took our time reading lots and lots of books and learning the names of many of them. We learned about the 4 levels of the rainforest. And finished off by creating a diorama of the rainforest. We saw 2 videos linked below of the beautiful Iguazu falls. We learned a few words in Portuguese.
